Where does my waste go?

A man stands inside a community dust bin where he leaves the organic waste after picking it up from the houses in Jangpura, a residential area in New Delhi, India, on July 9, 2015. He keeps the valuable items (such as paper, plastics, glass, etc...) and, carrying in his cart, will take it to the nearest juck dealer who will pay him 10-15 ruppies ($0.15-$0.22) per kg. It is estimated that Delhi alone produces 7.000 tones of solid waste per day and that between 80.000 to 100.000 ragpikers earn a life by picking up the waste from houses, offices, or even the streets, segregating it in a basic way and selling it to a dealer.
